Gyros Pita

Gyros Pita with “Another GREEK in the wall” by Rock’n’Rubs

Ingredients (for 4 pitas):

  • For the meat:
  • 500 g meat of your choice (lamb, beef, pork, or chicken), cut into thin strips
  • 2–3 tbsp neutral oil
  • 1.5–2 tbsp "Another Greek in the Wall" by Rock'n'Rubs
  • For the topping:
  • 4 pita breads or flatbreads
  • 200 g tzatziki (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2–3 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced into rings
  • 100 g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1–2 handfuls of iceberg lettuce or romaine lettuce, roughly chopped
  • Fresh parsley or mint (optional, for freshness)

Preparation

Step-by-step instructions

    Marinate & sear meat

    Mix the meat with oil and "Another GREEK in the wall" seasoning blend. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes (or overnight for more flavor). Sear in a hot pan until nicely browned (depending on the type of meat, 6–10 minutes). Keep warm.

    Warm the pita

    Briefly heat in a pan, on the grill, or in the oven/Panini grill until soft & warm.

Top with ingredients as shown in the photo

  1. - Spread a little tzatziki on the pita
    - Add some lettuce & tomato
    - Then pile on the hot gyros meat
    - Top with another spoonful of tzatziki, some crumbled feta & fresh herbs
    - Add red onion rings and a few drops of lemon juice to taste
