Hot Salsa

Fresh, fruity, and spicy – perfect with tortilla chips, grilled dishes, or as a dip.

Ingredients for about 400 g salsa:

  • 4 ripe tomatoes (alternatively: 300 g chopped canned tomatoes)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1–2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red chili pepper (e.g., Serrano or Bird’s Eye), finely chopped
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp brown sugar or raw cane sugar
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar or white balsamic vinegar
  • 1–2 tsp Geiler Scheizzz – Die Kiezhölle by Rock'n'Rubs
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro or flat-leaf parsley, chopped

    Preparation

    Dice the tomatoes into small pieces (if using fresh), and finely chop the bell pepper, onion, and garlic.

    In a bowl, mix together tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, garlic, chili, and herbs.

    Season

    Stir in olive oil, lime juice, vinegar, sugar, and Geiler Scheizzz – Die Kiezhölle.

    Let it sit

    Let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

    Season to taste

    Taste again before serving – adjust the seasoning with salt, lime, or a bit more seasoning blend if needed.
