Tuna Tartare with Avocado, Asian Seasoning & The Winner Steaks It All – Lemon Style by Rock’n’Rubs

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g sashimi-grade tuna (e.g., yellowfin or bluefin)
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 small spring onion (green & white parts separated)
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp fresh lime juice
  • 1–2 tsp “The Winner Steaks It All – Lemon Style” by Rock'n'Rubs
  • 1 tsp white and black sesame seeds (toasted)
  • A few sprigs of fresh cilantro (optional)
  • Side dish:
  • 4 slices of baguette or ciabatta, grilled
  • 1 lime (cut into wedges for serving)

Preparation

Slice the tuna

  1. Cut the tuna into small, even cubes (about 5 mm) using a very sharp knife. Keep chilled.

Prepare the avocado base

  1. Peel and pit the avocado, then cut it into small cubes. Immediately toss with a little lime juice and some "Winner steaks it all – Lemon style" to prevent oxidation.

Mix tartare

  1. Place the tuna cubes in a bowl. Gently mix with soy sauce, sesame oil, finely sliced spring onion (white part only), Winner steak it all – Lemon Style, and sesame seeds. If desired, adjust the flavor with a bit of lime juice and more seasoning blend.

Plating

  1. On a plate, arrange the avocado cubes in a circle (ideally using a ring mold), then top with the tuna tartare. Garnish with green onion, sesame seeds, and a bit of cilantro.

Serve with

  1. Grilled bread and fresh lime wedges.
