Halloumi Burger with Avocado featuring “Sheep’s Cheese” by Rock’n’Rubs

Ingredients (for 2 burgers):

  • 200 g halloumi (cut into 4 slices)
  • 1–2 tsp "Schafskäse" by Rock'n'Rubs
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 burger buns (e.g., whole grain or seeded)
  • 1 ripe avocado (sliced)
  • 1 handful arugula
  • 1 small red onion (thinly sliced into rings)
  • Optional: yogurt-herb dip or honey-mustard sauce

Preparation

Step-by-step instructions

    1. Season the halloumi and fry

    Pat the halloumi dry with a paper towel. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil with "Schafskäse" seasoning blend and toss the halloumi slices in the mixture until well coated.
    In a nonstick pan, fry over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

    2. Prepare the rolls

    Slice the burger buns in half and, if desired, toast the cut sides in a pan or toaster.

    3. Assemble the burgers

    Layer the bottom half of the bun with arugula, then add avocado slices and the flavorful halloumi on top. Sprinkle with onion rings. Add a dollop of dip if desired, then place the top bun on.
